When I hear about someone losing something really important, I cringe every time. One of my friends just lost her purse. The unfortunate event compounds my distaste for the problem of lost valuables. From the moment of frantic searching to the DMV’s arduously bureaucratic process of replacing a lost driver’s license, the events surrounding the loss of an important item are far from happy.
My friend was not the only one spending time looking for her purse. It was her boyfriend, roommates, and other friends scouring every nook and cranny of cars and apartments. All in all, the searching process has consumed 4 hours of people’s time. The replacement process will likely take my friend another 5 – 6 hours and cost over $300 to replace the lost cards, ID, purse, and wallet.
