Buying a New Phone Guide: Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of our guide on buying a new phone. Buying a new phone takes a lot of thought. You endlessly compare prices, features, and reviews. You look at what each phone company has to offer, what plans you’re able to get, and what rebates you can score. The whole thing is a big, stinking pile of confusion and second-guessing. Well, I’m going to help you sort through all that mess and make sure that you’re satisfied with your purchase at the end of the day. All you have to do is read this guide.

So, in the last part we discussed looking at the features you want or expect in a new phone. Now, we’re going to talk about selecting a service provider. This is a very touchy subject for most people as choosing a service provider apparently is about the same as being a fan of a sports team or political party — it defines you. Talk to your friends and family to see what they use. Most providers have deals where it’s free or super cheap to talk to people on the same network. Look online for reviews on the coverage in your area and hope it’s decent. Check on http://www.cellreception.com/ to see how the coverage is in your area. Also, by choosing a provider, you end up limiting your choices on phones so make sure your dream phone is used by the provider you choose.

That ends it for part 2, check soon for part 3! If you missed the first part, it’s here. I’ll post on our Twitter and Facebook accounts when it’s up. As always, after purchasing your new smart phone, buy a Phone Halo to secure it. It’ll make sure you’ll never lose your phone again. Seriously.
