Ever notice man’s fascination with maps?
Ever since the beginning of time, man has wanted to design systems to determine location and track
whereabouts. Tracking a lost phone is a modern daily requirement.
Consider that this was an issue of survival. Knowing where you were and the weather patterns, and migration patterns did often determine your likelihood of survival. Today, man continues to map locations and do so with greater and greater detail and relevancy. And, when possible, with complete automation.
Next to Google, Google Maps is one of the most widely used tracking systems today. Imagine if the original cartographers had access to Google Maps. We now have the benefit of weather.com and grocery stores to ensure our survival. We take for granted our physical location in the universe given the daily luxuries.
However, there still exists loss and still exists a dire desire to track valuables. Consider the common misplacement of your smartphone.
I went on a beautiful trip to Jamaica several years ago. We captured special moments and breathtaking scenes. Some of the photos were taken on my digital camera, and others were taken on our trusty mobile phones. More and more people are foregoing digital cameras as smart phones develop more sophisticated lenses. Upon our return, and still in a state of bliss, we left our phone in the taxi.
That’s right! We lost our phone in a taxi! Have you ever done that? People lose phones in taxis some 16,500 times EACH day.
Once we realized that we lost the phone in the taxi, we began the normal process of tracking the phone. First of all, we called the taxi company. We provided information on our route. We called back every 10 minutes requesting an update – hoping they were issuing broadcasts about our lost phone to the right driver. Unfortunately, right after our taxi ride, a new driver took over that taxi.
We then went to the internet and found a myriad of Web sites dedicated to helping you locate your lost phone. We posted messages and information on our route, the type of phone we had, and so on and so forth. Obviously, being on vacation, those photos were not synced. They only existed on that single device. After a few days of frustration and learning everything you might want to learn about recovering a lost phone, we gave up.
We discovered new solutions like phone tracking technology that uses GPS based tracking to determine the location of your phone.
In the process of searching and praying, we were empathetic to the hundreds of offerings to finding a lost phone. It’s remarkable really. Try it now, do a Google search for “find lost phone” and there are instructions manuals and guides, and suggestions that are voluminous and detailed.
I wish there was some satellite based system that knew exactly where my phone was. That way, I could see those photos once again.
Phone Halo uses the latest technology to immediately broadcast the GPS coordinates of your lost phone, keys, purse, valuable, any asset really. But, what I really appreciate about Phone Halo is that it prevents loss in the first place. Phone Halo’s system would have notified us that the phone was in the Taxi way before we paid our fare.
To think of the hours we spent, the heartache we experienced, and the cost we incurred boggles my mind. Thank goodness for Phone Halo – to track your phone, but more importantly to prevent loss in the first place.
